OpenSRS: Reseller Friendly since 1999

UsableWeb Ltd

Making the Internet easier for everyone to use is the goal at UsableWeb.gr, a Greek hosting provider and OpenSRS Reseller. A commitment to building simple, effective services combined with excellent customer support is something both UsableWeb and OpenSRS share, and it has made for a very successful partnership.

Founded in 2004, UsableWeb is based on the island of Crete, in Greece. It operates two distinct brands, targeting the Greek market: papaki.gr, (which means duck in English and is what the Greek call the '@' symbol) and TopHost.gr. Between them, they provide domain registration, hosting and other Internet services to both the consumer and business markets.

Customer Focused

The company’s goal of making online services easy to use for everyone resonates throughout everything the company does.

"We are very focused to constantly improve our products and continue to add new services and features, such as DNS, free and paid web-hosting, websites, and e-shop plans," says Dimitris Anthoulakis, co-founder, UsableWeb Ltd. "The variety of services and features in combination with our customer-oriented support, has made us the number one registrar in Greece and it’s what differentiates from our competitors."

UsableWeb relies on OpenSRS to power domain registrations across a variety of different extensions. They are also the leading .GR Accredited Registrar in terms of the total number of .GR domain names under management, using their own, purpose-built registrar platform.

Greece is Poised for Growth

Greece is an interesting and challenging place to do business. Recent studies show the country ranks low – 23rd overall – in terms of broadband Internet penetration compared to other countries in the European Union. From its current position, Anthoulakis sees plenty of opportunity for growth.

"More and more businesses are realizing the importance of an online presence and the Greek market will grow significantly the coming years," says Anthoulakis. "The fact that Greece ranks 23rd in Europe in terms of Internet penetration means that there are huge opportunities for growth for our company."

OpenSRS Reseller Since 2010

UsableWeb is a fairly recent addition to the OpenSRS Reseller fold – they became a Reseller in 2010.

Anthoulakis says they chose OpenSRS because of the level of customer service and support OpenSRS offers, including a dedicated account manager.

"We were excited with the idea of having a real person to lean on; someone that actually cares about our needs and problems in a personal and human way," he says.

Since becoming a reseller, says they’ve found the relationship to be extremely positive. "The API integration was easy and Reseller Support is very fast," he says.

And he likes what he sees coming down the pike in terms of further enhancements to OpenSRS. "The new Control Panel interface for managing domains is one of the easiest and fastest to use of anything we have seen until now."
