We’ve been posting advance maintenance window notifications on the Reseller blog since our System Status Dashboard launched in December 2008. Today we are launching a maintenance calendar located on the new left-hand side menu on the OpenSRS System Status Dashboard. This will replace our weekly blog posts for scheduled registry, vendor and OpenSRS maintenance windows. We will regularly update the new maintenance calendar for any scheduled windows (OpenSRS, Registry or vendor), so check back often. If you use a calendar that supports the iCalendar format, you can import the current maintenance calendar. Also, our Status dashboard provides real-time notification at the start and end of each scheduled maintenance window including the length of the window and service impact.

For OpenSRS services only, we will continue to provide advance email notification to our Resellers regarding scheduled maintenance windows. (These are usually provided at least 1 week in advance). Other than the maintenance calendar update, we will not provide advance notification via email for registry and vendor maintenance windows. Registries and vendors vary the timing of their advance notification for scheduled maintenance. Instead, as soon as we get the registry or vendor messages, we will update the maintenance calendar and schedule the windows for real-time notification on the Status Dashboard.

The Status menu includes the new maintenance calendar and options on how to subscribe to Status:

OpenSRS Status Dashboard has real-time content about all our services including incidents and maintenance windows. For service outages (incidents), we provide frequent updates with full details including an incident summary at the conclusion of an issue. We also indicate the type of Status for services by the following color-coded categories: Online=green, Degraded=orange, Offline=red and Maintenance=gray.

On our Status Dashboard, customers can see real-time and archived data including maintenance and incident summaries. As a reminder, we encourage you to sign up to receive RSS, Twitter or email notifications.
