Can you believe that October is here already? Summer in Canada, home to OpenSRS HQ, is pretty much over and thoughts have turned to getting ready for another winter.

But on the bright side, the change of season also means a pair of new domain promotions to tell you about.

• First up is a great promotion on .CA domains. We’re slashing the cost for .CA registrations to just $10 throughout the month of October (compared to the usual cost of $14). And, as a special bonus for our Canadian resellers, we’ll knock another $1.50 off if you are based in Canada.
• Also on sale starting October 1 are .ORG domains. We’re taking $2.00 off the registry cost on new .ORG registrations through to the end of the year.

The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) Nomination Committee is seeking interested individuals from across Canada to apply to fill three open positions for the Nomination Committee Slate of CIRA’s Board of Directors Election. Canadians with governance experience and relevant background in industry, technology or the Internet are encouraged to apply.

Applications will be accepted from May 10 to June 8, 2012 at the CIRA website.

.CA Members and Registrants can play a key role in guiding the future of the Internet through their participation in the Nomination Committee Slate. CIRA will be inviting .CA Members and Registrants to participate in this stage of the 2012 CIRA Election.

The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) is seeking interested individuals from across Canada to apply to fill six open positions on its Nomination Committee. CIRA is the body that operates the .CA registry on behalf of Canadians.

Professional Canadians with committee experience and/or an interest in technology or the Internet are encouraged to apply.

According to CIRA, “the CIRA Nomination Committee plays a critical role in soliciting and selecting qualified candidates for the Nomination Committee Slate of CIRA’s Board of Directors Election. Its focus is to help build a Board of Directors that represents a wide range of views and interests, and ultimately contributing to the strategic direction of .CA and Canadian Internet policy.”

CIRA’s Nomination Committee is seeking interested individuals from across Canada to apply to fill three open positions for the Nomination Committee Slate of CIRA’s Board of Directors Election. Professional Canadians with Board experience and/or an interest in technology and the Internet are encouraged to apply. Expertise in one of the following areas would be an asset: accounting, law, marketing and communications or technology.

The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) has started taking submissions for the 2010 .CA Impact Awards. This program is part of CIRA’s ongoing commitment to invest in Canada’s .CA community. Submissions will be accepted between January 6, 2011 and March 25, 2011.

Winners will receive a cheque for $5,000 from CIRA.

The .CA Impact Awards celebrate hose people who are using their .CA websites to make a positive difference in the lives of those around them. The impact can be social, cultural, political, technological or economic. .CA Impact Awards are available in four categories: E-Learning, Small Business, Not-for-Profit, and Web Technology.

CIRA intends to email all .CA registrants about the .CA Impact Awards on January 19, 2011. If you are a .CA reseller, help get the word out and share this news with your customers! Feel free to blog it, tweet it, post it on Facebook or create an email campaign.
