I think selling web and email addresses as an integrated PART OF social sites makes tons of sense. It's only a matter of time before some of the better Web 2.0 companies realize that they're really "single purpose web hosts" and that the normal revenue opportunities web hosts have are just waiting for them. I'm less convinced about selling web and email addresses THROUGH these services (i.e. thinking of them as ad or affiliate opportunities and looking for people wanting a traditional domain/hosting buying experience on social networks). If someone at Facebook wants to contact me about becoming a reseller and integrating domains and email into the site, I'd be happy to talk to them! @struik – Thanks for the comment.

I think selling web and email addresses as an integrated PART OF social sites makes tons of sense. It’s only a matter of time before some of the better Web 2.0 companies realize that they’re really “single purpose web hosts” and that the normal revenue opportunities web hosts have are just waiting for them.

I’m less convinced about selling web and email addresses THROUGH these services (i.e. thinking of them as ad or affiliate opportunities and looking for people wanting a traditional domain/hosting buying experience on social networks).
